Sydney - Blue Mountains

The Blue Mountains National Park has some truly fantastic scenery, excellent bushwalks and all the gorges, gum trees and cliffs you could ask for. The foothills begin 65 km inland from Sydney and rise as high as 1100 metres. The blue haze which gave the mountains their name is a result of the fine mist of oil given off by eucalyptus trees.
To see something and to relax you need at least 3 days. There are nice tours with camping. But bring warm clothes with you. It usually snows sometime between June and August and even in Summer it can be cold and rainy!
